On Saturday 3/2/2024 at 10:15pm, officers responded to a shooting at the 300 block of O’Connor St. James Chesnutt was found deceased from a gunshot wound. James’ death is being investigated as a homicide.

On 2/25/2024 at approximately 2:00am, officers responded to a shooting One17 SofaBar & Lounge located at 117 N. Greene St. Police located two gunshot wound victims. Devonte Stephenson did not survive his injuries and his death is being investigated as a homicide.

On Thursday 1/31/2024 at 11:50pm, officers responded to a shooting on Godwin Ct. Jalin Williams was found shot and later died from the injuries. Jalin’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

On Saturday 12/30/2023 at approximately 9:00am, officers responded to a call of a person who had been shot at 202 N. Swing Rd. Officers located Noah Charlton deceased from a gunshot wound. Noah’s death is now being investigated as a homicide.

On Saturday, 12/30/2023 at 10:26pm, GPD officers responded to a shooting in the 2300 block of E. Market St. Officers discovered Ammar Majied had been shot and he later died from the injuries. Ammar’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

On Sunday 12/24/2023 at approximately 4:45 pm, officers responded to a shooting at 6009 Landmark Center Dr. Isaiah and another person had been shot and both were transported to a local hospital. Isaiah died several days later from the injuries. Isaiah’s death is now being investigated as a homicide.

On Saturday 11/18/2023 around 7:50 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 2200 block of New Garden Rd. Leighton Lyons was found in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Leighton died as a result of the injuries and his death is now being investigated as a homicide.

On Monday, 11/6/2023 at approximately 3:40am, officers responded to a call in reference to a person lying in the street at 16th St and McKnight Mill Rd. Officers located Shaneta with gunshot wounds. Shaneta died from the injuries and her death is now being investigated as a homicide.

Unsolved 2023 Double Homicide: Up to $30,000 Reward
On November 5, 2023, at approximately 2:30am, Greensboro Police Department officers responded to a shooting at 5606 David Christian Place. Upon arrival, officers located Carlos Guerrero and Marseddez Lopez, both of whom had been shot. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene and their deaths are being investigated as a homicide.
Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible. In addition to the Crime Stoppers reward, North Carolina Governor Josh Stein issued a proclamation on December 29, 2025, announcing that the State of North Carolina is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible. Total reward: Up to $30,000. The reward offered by the State of NC is separate from the Crime Stoppers reward.

On 9/29/23 at 9:45pm, officers responded to a Dudley High School football game in reference to a shooting. Officers discovered Matthew Grant and another person had been shot. Matthew died as a result of his injuries and his death is now being investigated as a homicide.
